The mission of the State Law Library is to provide a legal reference facility for use by the members and staff of the Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Office of the Attorney General, and other state entities, and by citizens of the state. The State Law Library seeks to accomplish its mission through prudent management and development of its resources, including:

In this effort, the library serves as an active disseminator of information and an active participant in cooperative efforts with other libraries, governmental agencies, and state and national organizations.

The library is committed to guaranteed and quality access to legal information making effective legal counsel and decision-making possible. To insure that the State Law Library is the integral link to this access, the management and staff seek to make the library a comfortable, efficient organization where all library patrons can find and use the information they need. We will approach our mission with an enthusiasm and a passion for excellence that enhances the limited funds and personnel at our disposal in order to provide the most effective return on the state’s investment in legal information resources. We seek to provide for ourselves and our patrons an environment in which individual and group goals can be achieved and in which all policies and activities mesh to constructively reach those goals.
