Recommended Titles and Treatises
To help provide access to the Texas State Law Library's legal resources, the reference librarians have selected the most noteworthy titles in our collection and arranged them here by subject. The titles listed for each subject feature a brief summary written by a reference librarian, and each subject's titles are divided into those that are specific to Texas law and those that aren't.

Constitutional Law
Encyclopedia of the American Constitution
6 volumes. Updated by new edition.
This six-volume reference title serves as a great resource for anyone doing research about the U.S. Constitution, its interpretation, and major cases that deal with the Constitution. The brief articles serve as comprehensive summaries written in plain English and are great starting points for further research since they all include bibliographical references and relevant cross-references to other articles in the encyclopedia. Also included are the text of the Constitution, the Articles of Confederation, Washington's Letter of Transmittal, a chronology of the Constitution, a listing of important events in the development of constitutional law, a glossary, a list of contributors to the encyclopedia, and subject indexes.
