The titles listed for each subject feature a brief summary written by a reference librarian, and each subject's titles are divided into those that are specific to Texas law and those that aren't.

Soave, the Director Emeritus of the division of Laboratory Animal Medicine at Stanford University, provides broad coverage of the legal issues facing veterinary medicine in six informative chapters. The first chapter gives the historical background for the law, the second discusses malpractice and negligence, the third explores the veterinarian client relationship. In the fourth chapter general considerations for veterinary practices are also discussed and then information on the legal protection of animals and finally the protection of the general public. Also included in a thorough bibliography that contains citations to both cases and secondary material.
