Written both for the lawyer and the non-practitioner, this book provides coverage on a broad range of the legal issues surrounding animals especially dogs. Close look is taken at the psychological factors that contribute to aggressive behavior and dog bites. One chapter focuses entirely on the ethology and epidemiology of canine aggression, while another discusses behavioral discovery in dog-related injury cases. Other topics covered include ownership, local and state government animal regulations, veterinarian malpractice, and the history of anti-cruelty laws. Many specific cases and statutes are discussed.
