Class Actions
Complete CAFA: analysis and developments under the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005
211 pages. No updates available.
This volume puts the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 in context. The author provides a brief history of class actions in order to explain why Congress passed the CAFA. He touches on the political "wrangling" that accompanied the passage. There are numerous citations to the statute, case law and primary legislative history resources. It would be a great starting point is you needed to do a legislative history of the Act. Cites to law review articles provide additional theoretical discussions and references to Moore's Federal Practice are provided for the practitioner.
