Recommended Titles and Treatises
To help provide access to the Texas State Law Library's legal resources, the reference librarians have selected the most noteworthy titles in our collection and arranged them here by subject. The titles listed for each subject feature a brief summary written by a reference librarian, and each subject's titles are divided into those that are specific to Texas law and those that aren't.

Voting law changes in 2012
56 pages. No updates available.
The Brennan Center for Justice, a non-partisan public policy and law institute, publishes this comprehensive overview of all the recently passed state laws that affect voting rights. In 2011, 14 states enacted pieces of legislation that affect voter registration or the voting process, and this brief title analyzes those new state laws to project what impact they may have across the United States. Topics include voter ID laws (with a focus on Texas), proof of citizenship, new restrictions on registration, and the elimination of some early voting procedures.
