Written by a conversation biologist, Listed uses specific cases to examine the uses and abuses of the Endangered Species Act since its passage in 1973. Roman looks at the act’s history, the politics that go into determining which species are listed, and arguments against the ESA and why opponents often find it threatening. Ultimately he illustrates why biodiversity in supremely important to humans in economic and philosophic terms.
