Juvenile Law
Representing juvenile status offenders
144 pages. Updated .
This book is a guide for attorneys and others who advocate for youth who have engaged in noncriminal misbehavior (status offenses). Each chapter is written by an expert in the field to give the reader the tools to successfully represent youth in these proceedings. Some of the subjects discussed are the critical provisions of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, how to build relationships with youth clients. Also included are tips on how to use early intervention services for clients and strategies that may be used at trial, disposition or if a court order has been violated by a client.
