This ABA publication, intended for the practitioner who has had limited exposure to the cooperative business, provides an overview of cooperative law and discusses the ways cooperatives differ from other business organizations. Topics covered include the history of cooperatives, when to use the cooperative form of business, types of cooperatives and their different business structures, the roles of the various member types, capitalization, and taxation of cooperatives.
