The revised Model Code of Judicial Conduct as adopted by the ABA House of Delegates, on February 12, 2007, contains four canons with prefaratory sections including preamble, scope, terminology and application. The preamble states the objectives of the Model Code. The scope describes how the canons should be interpreted, used for guidance and enforced. The terminology section provides definitions and the application section establishes when rules apply to a judge or judicial candidate. An index and several appendices which are not part of the code are also present.
